Women's Tennis Heads to Arizona

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team heads out West to take on the University of Arizona on Saturday at 12 p.m. ET and the University of Nevada at 12 p.m. ET on Sunday. Both matches will be played at UA.

The Broncos head out on their Spring Break trip on a roll, winners of their last four matches. The Wildcats and the Wolfpack represent WMU's final two non-conference matches of the season, with Mid-American Conference Play starting on March 16 at Toledo.

Last Weekend WMU played three matches across Ohio, starting off with a 5-2 win at Youngstown State. The Broncos then traveled to Cleveland and dispatched Cleveland State, 4-3, and St. Bonaventure, 4-0.

HOW SWEEP IT IS
Saturday's sweep of St. Bonaventure was their fourth of the season and their second road sweep. WMU opened the season with a 7-0 win over Ferris State and then dispatched Duquesne, 4-0, on the road. WMU's third sweep was against Purdue Northwest at home.

But the win over the Bonnies wasn't WMU's only sweep from that weekend. Seniors Lindsey Zieglar and Valeriya Monko combined to sweep the MAC weekly awards. Zieglar and Monko were named MAC Women's Doubles Team of the Week, while Monko was named MAC Women's Singles Player of the Week.

ROAD WARRIORS
The Broncos are 5-2 away from home so far this season. The only two losses came courtesy of the Big 10, dropping matches at Indiana and Michigan State. WMU is also 2-0 in neutral site matches.

ON THE HORIZON
Western Michigan takes next week off before opening MAC play at Toledo on Saturday, March 16 at 1 p.m.
