MADISON, Wis. -- The Western Michigan cross country team finished its regular season with a 23rd-place finish at the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals meet on Saturday afternoon. Washington State, Air Force, Vanderbilt, Northeastern and Ohio State were the top-five team finishers.
Lillian Zelasko paced the Broncos by finishing 36th with a time of 21:24.6. The race featured more than 200 runners, and Zelasko has finished in the top 40 of every meet she's competed in so far this season.
Following Zelasko were
Grace Aurand and
Brooke Soper. Aurand crossed the finish line in a time of 22:19.5, while Soper was able to record a time of 22:32.7. The fourth runner to finish for WMU was
Lily Overton, as she collected a time of 22:42.0.
Closing out the scoring lineup was
Lauren Sancrant, who registered a time of 23:00.6.
Larissa McGrath (23:08.2),
Lara Machado Pereira (23:16.0) and
Delaney Knoll (23:22.1) were also strong for the Broncos on the course.

Western Michigan will now turn its attention to the MAC Championships, which are set to take place on Nov. 2 at Ball State.
