COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Western Michigan women's tennis team wrapped up competition at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships, hosted by Ohio State over the weekend.
Audrey Smitek, Julia Frazier, Frida Wiejerman and Lola Glanz were all slotted for the singles qualification bracket and all four fell in two sets, missing out on advancing to the main draw.
Freshman Sienna Osborne qualified for the main singles draw, but dropped her first match to Notre Dame's Esther Vyrlan, 4-6, 4-6. Osborne dropped the consolation bracket but fell to Northwestern's Mika Dagan 3-6, 1-6, to end her competition.
Wiejerman and Glanz teamed up in the doubles draw, along with Osborne and Smitek, but both teams fell in the opening round.
The Broncos return to action on Oct. 25-27 at Miami University for the MAC Fall Championships.
