KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan football program can announce its Mid-American Conference opponents for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 seasons.
Next season the Broncos will host Akron, Kent, Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan. WMU will be on the road at Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo and Central Michigan.
In 2025, Western Michigan hosts Ball State, Central Michigan, Ohio and Toledo. WMU heads on the road to Akron, Eastern Michigan, Miami and Northern Illinois.
The 2026 schedule features home contests against Central Michigan, Kent, Ohio and Toledo. The Broncos will be on the road against Bowling Green, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan and Miami.
The MAC announced a new scheduling format back in November. The new scheduling model eliminates the MAC East and West Divisions. The top two teams based on conference winning percentage will compete in the MAC Football Championship Game at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich.
This new model allows for each team to face all 11 conference opponents home and away at least once during a three-year cycle. Additionally, the new format will incorporate protected opponents based on geographic location and rivalries.
