OMAHA, Neb. – Former Western Michigan outside hitter
Maggie King has been invited to the inaugural training camp for the Omaha Supernovas of the Pro Volleyball Federation.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, King recently wrapped up an outstanding five-year career with the Broncos, which saw her named to the All-MAC First Team each of the last four seasons. She was also a two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection and a four-time Academic All-MAC honoree. King concluded her WMU career ranked second in program history in career kills (1,849) and points (2,052.0), and as the all-time leader in both matches played (146) and sets played (528).
King was one of 22 players from around the country invited to Omaha's inaugural training camp, which takes place from Jan. 3-22, to compete for 14 roster spots for the team's inaugural campaign. There are two additional roster spots available for college draftees to become practice players.
The Omaha Supernovas are members of the Pro Volleyball Federation, a new professional volleyball league and the premier women's volleyball league in North America. The Supernovas are slated to host the first match in Pro Volleyball Federation history on Jan. 24, as they face the Atlanta Vibe at CHI Health Center in Omaha.
