Women's Tennis Opens Fall Season Hosting Betsy Kuhle Invitational

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team opens the 2023-24 season hosting Marquette, Michigan State, Oakland, Milwaukee and Youngstown state for the 2023 Betsy Kuhle Invitational beginning on Friday morning at Sorensen Courts.

The Broncos are led by interim head coach Jimmy Beckwith, who took over when Ryan Tomlinson stepped down on Sept. 13.

WMU will have its first chance to see freshmen Sofia Balsera and Julia Frazer get their first collegiate action, while junior transfer Polina Khotko could also make her Bronco debut.

Western Michigan come into the fall season with plenty of leadership at the top. Three-time First Team All-MAC selection Lindsey Zieglar returns for her fifth season. Senior Karin Hamilton was a Second Team All-MAC selection last season, and WMU sophomores Audrey Smitek and Ariane Souligny look to build off of successful freshmen campaigns.

Admission all weekend is free.
