VILLANOVA, Pa. – After trailing 1-0 early in Tuesday's contest, Senior Dylan Sing scored two goals to propel the Brown and Gold to a 2-2 tie against Villanova Tuesday evening.
Throughout the entire game, the Brown and Gold would trail for a total of 2:08. When the Wildcats scored the opening goal of the contest, Sing responded by tying up the match at one all. In the 20th minute of the half Noah James found Sing, who would in turn, slot the ball into the lower left 90 of the goal for his first score of the afternoon. With the goal, Sing has now scored in four consecutive games, which is tied for his longest stretch of recording at least one goal. Sing first scored in four consecutive games last season from September 1, 2022- September 14, 2022. "We scored two really nice goals, Dylan has found his form and has been a handful for opponents" said head coach Chad Wiseman.
Western Michigan and Villanova entered the half at a 1-1 deadlock. However, during the 51-minute mark of the second half, Sing locked in on another strike: This time he would score from an assisting Landon Fisher to regain the Brown and Gold's lead at 2-1. "I thought we played pretty well, going on the road playing a Big East opponent isn't easy", noted Wiseman.
During the match, the Broncos were able to limit Villanova to a total of nine shots Tuesday. However, the Wildcats responded to Sing's second goal late into the game and tied the contest up at two all during the 74th minute. "Villanova played very tough today, they showed some unbelievable grit over the 90 minutes", credited Wiseman.
After losing to #12 ranked University of Vermont, Western Michigan has gone seven games without a loss. The Brown and Gold are now three games away from tying last year's best unbeaten streak of 10 games, in which they recorded nine wins and one tie from Thursday, September 1, 2022 - Sunday, October 9, 2022.
"We saw some tough calls on the road, that's to be expected, I am very proud of how the boys handled those moments: We have been creating lots of scoring chances in the last few games, that's when I know we're playing well", concluded Wiseman.
