THE FIRST SERVE
Western Michigan begins a stretch of 11 straight matches away from home on Tuesday evening as it travels to Ann Arbor to face Michigan.
LAST TIME OUT
The Broncos won their home tournament over the weekend with four-set victories over Milwaukee, UNI and Villanova. On Sunday against VU,
Logan Case posted her first double-double of the season (44 assists, 14 digs), while
Anna Calcagno (16 kills, 10 digs, 9 blocks) came just shy of a triple-double.
SCOUTING THE WOLVERINES
Michigan enters Tuesday at 1-1 after splitting its matches against Boston College and Sacred Heart. Jacque Boney led the U-M attack over the weekend with 20 kills on a .633 hitting percentage. WMU owns a 15-11 all-time record against the Wolverines, with Tuesday's matchup the first since 2015. Western Michigan's last win over a Big Ten opponent was a five-set win over Indiana in 2021.
AN MVP PERFORMANCE

Logan Case was named the MVP of the WMU Tournament over the weekend after averaging 11.58 assists and 2.33 digs per set as the Broncos went 3-0. For her efforts, Case was also named the MAC West Setter of the Week.

Keona Salesman named to the All-Tournament Team over the weekend. Simkins averaged 3.83 digs/set and boasted a .983 reception percentage, while Salesman averaged 3.56 kills/set while hitting .346. Salesman was named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week, while Simkins was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week.

Through the season's first weekend, the Broncos have three hitters in the top-five in the league in kills/set:
Maggie King (1st, 4.00),
Keona Salesman (3rd, 3.56) and
Anna Calcagno (5th, 3.50).
BLOCK PARTY
WMU had double-digit blocks in each of the last two matches of the weekend, with
Amanda Glanton's 11 on Sunday the highest total by a Bronco since 2019. As a team, Western Michigan leads the MAC and is 11th nationally in total blocks (35.0).
