KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Benjamin George, Anton Arzhankin, Peter Kuszynski and Fynn Lohse from the Western Michigan men's tennis team have been named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District for the 2022-23 season.
George was a First Team All-MAC selection after going 5-4 in MAC play to help the Broncos win their 28th MAC Regular Season Championship. He was 11-8 overall in dual matches with a 7-5 record at the top slot. He boasts a 3.95 GPA in business analytics.
Arzhankin was also a First Team All-MAC selection. The Moscow, Russia, native went undefeated in MAC play, with a 10-0 record at No. 2. Arzhankin, who has a 3.76 GPA in computer science, also posted nine wins in doubles play in the spring.
Kuszynski was a Second Team All-MAC selection and was one of the team captains. The Markham, Ontario, native went 6-4 in MAC singles and 7-5 in dual matches. He paired primarily with Ferdinand Schlueter to post an 8-5 dual-match doubles record at No. 1. Kuszynski graduated with a degree in finance and a 3.76 GPA.
Lohse also captained the Broncos and went 7-1 in MAC singles, playing primarily at No. 5. Lohse also went 5-3 in MAC doubles and 7-5 overall in the spring. He graduated with a degree in business analytics and a 3.98 GPA.
