CLEVELAND – Western Michigan junior first baseman
Cade Sullivan has been named MAC Baseball Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon. It is the second Player of the Week award for Sullivan this season.
Sullivan had a big week at the plate for Western Michigan, hitting .353 (six-for-17) with four runs scored, five RBIs and a .421 on-base percentage. Four of the junior's six hits went for extra-bases, as he belted two doubles and two home runs for an .824 slugging percentage.
Over the weekend at Miami, Sullivan went five-for-13 (.385), scored three times, drove in five, and homered in both of WMU's victories over the RedHawks.
A native of Naperville, Ill., Sullivan is tied for sixth in the MAC with eight home runs and tied for ninth with 25 RBIs.
Western Michigan is back on the road on Tuesday as it heads to Ann Arbor to face Michigan. First pitch between the Broncos and Wolverines is scheduled for 4 pm.
