Hockey Announces Non-Conference Schedule for 2023-24

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan hockey team announced its non-conference schedule for the 2023-24 season, with the Broncos playing six of those 10 games at Lawson Arena.

The Broncos played 12 non-conference games last season, outscoring opponents by a margin of 58-31. They earned a record of 8-4 against non-NCHC opponents during the 2022-23 regular season.

WMU will open the season with a pair of games against Ferris State. WMU will play in Big Rapids on Friday, Oct. 13 and return home to host the Bulldogs at Lawson the following day. From there, the Broncos will have a two-game set against Bowling Green. WMU will play at BGSU on Friday, Oct. 20 and host the Falcons on Saturday, Oct. 21. WMU was undefeated against the Bulldogs and Falcons last season.

After some NCHC games, St. Lawrence will come to Kalamazoo for a two-game series on Nov. 24-25. The Broncos lead the all-time series, 7-5, with the most recent meeting coming back in 2021. WMU collected a pair of wins over the Saints. Western Michigan hasn't hosted St. Lawrence since 2012.

To cap off the non-conference slate, WMU will play four games with Lindenwood. The Broncos will host the Lions on Dec. 1-2 before heading to Missouri for a two-game series on Jan. 5-6. Lindenwood became a Division I program last season, and the Broncos have never played the Lions prior to these upcoming contests.
