CLEVELAND – Western Michigan junior first baseman
Cade Sullivan has been named MAC Baseball Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Sullivan had a huge weekend at the plate for the Broncos, as he went 10-for-21 (.476) with three home runs, a pair of doubles, five runs scored and 12 RBIs to help WMU to a 3-1 record. The junior slugged 1.000 for the weekend and also registered a 1.000 fielding percentage with 35 putouts at first base.
The Aurora, Ill., native had a pair of multi-hit games, including a career-high five-hit, six-RBI game on Saturday against Bucknell. In the win over the Bison, Sullivan also notched his second career multi-homer game. He closed out the weekend with three hits and four RBIs against North Carolina A&T, and put the exclamation point on Western Michigan's 10-1 win with a solo shot. Sullivan showed power to all fields, hitting one of his home runs to left, one to center and another one to right field.
Western Michigan continues its trip through the Carolinas on Tuesday as it heads to Clinton, S.C., to face Presbyterian. The Broncos and Blue Hose are set for a 4 pm start, and the game will be streamed live on
