Men's Heads to Michigan State for Friday Match

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team makes the quick trip to East Lansing to take on Michigan State on Friday at 5 p.m., its final match before opening Mid-American Conference play next weekend.

Fans can watch the match live, here. Live scoring is also available.

The Broncos (4-5) snapped a four-match losing streak last Friday with a 7-0 victory over Illinois State at West Hills Athletic Club. WMU swept all three doubles matches and then went on to win four of the six singles matches in two sets. Sophomore Anton Arzhankin won his match at No. 2 without losing a single game, 6-0, 6-0. Western MIchigan defeated the Spartans, 4-3, in its last meeting in 2022. WMU, however, has struggled on the road this season with just a 1-4 record.

MSU enters Friday's match with the same record as the Broncos and have played two common opponents, both who have defeated WMU. The Spartans earned a 4-3 home win over Drake and recently lost 4-3 at No. 37 Notre Dame.

MAC play begins next weekend for Western Michigan with a pair of home matches. WMU welcomes Binghamton on Friday at 1 p.m. before Buffalo makes a visit to West Hills Athletic Club on Sunday for another 1 p.m. first serve. Live scoring will be available for both matches at www.wmustats.com
