All-Time Series: BGSU leads 33-20-3
THIS WEEK
Western Michigan wraps up the 2023 season hosting Bowling Green on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU and on the Bronco Media Network.
THE MATCH UP
- Tuesday is the 57th all-time meeting between the Broncos and the Falcons, with the series beginning in 1954
- Bowling Green leads the all-time series at 33-20-3, with the Falcons taking the most recent meeting 13-9 last season at BGSU.
- WMU has won six of the last 10 in the series.
82 = 16
Bronco redshirt freshman running back
Jalen Buckley enters the final game of the season just 82 yards shy of reaching 1,000 rushing yards. Should he reach the mark, he will become the 16th different player in program history to reach 1,000.
A good indicator that he could get there? Reaching 20 carries. Every time this season that Buckley has had at least 20 carries in a game, he has broken 100 yards.
THE ROARING 20's
After doing so in just one of the first seven games of the season, the Western Michigan defense has kept its opponents' score in the 20's in each of the last four games. The Broncos have held Ohio to 20, Eastern Michigan to 21, Central Michigan to 28 and Northern Illinois to 24. WMU had a similar trend last season, and finished the final five games holding opponents to less than 30 points.
FINISHING AT THE TOP
WMU wide receiver
Kenneth Womack enters the final game of the regular season leading the MAC in total receptions (68) and receptions per game (6.2). He has 18 more than second place Jasaiah Gathings from Akron, which should make him the fifth Bronco to lead the MAC in receptions since 2000. He could join the likes of Greg Jennings (2005), Jamarko Simmons (2008), Jordan White (2011) and Skyy Moore (2021).
