Hockey Cracks the Top 10

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- After earning a pair of wins at North Dakota this past weekend, the Western Michigan hockey team has elevated itself into the nation's top 10. The Broncos handled the Fighting Hawks, 4-0, on Friday night before coming back to win, 7-6, on Saturday evening. WMU has now been ranked in the top-20 for 40 consecutive weeks.

The Broncos jumped up to two spots to No. 10 in both the DCU/USCHO poll and USA Today/USA Hockey Maganize polls released earlier today. The Broncos leapfrogged over Merrimack and UCONN. WMU was ranked No. 12 in both polls last week.

The Broncos will hit the road again this weekend for a pair of games at Colorado College. CC was receiving votes in the latest national polls. Friday's game will begin at 10 PM, with Saturday's contest starting at 8 PM. This is the first meeting between the schools so far this season. Colorado College will come to Lawson Arena on Feb. 17 and 18.
