KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Senior
Reagan Wisser scored twice off the bench as the Western Michigan women's soccer team battled Cincinnati to a 2-2 tie at the WMU Soccer Complex on Friday afternoon.
UC took an early lead in the 16th minute on a goal by Ashley Barron off of a corner kick by Megan Smith. Smith played the ball into the box and Barron out-jumped her marker and headed it into the net to make it 1-0.
Wisser scored twice in less than three minutes to give Western Michigan a 2-1 lead. Her first goal came in the 28th minute off a corner kick by
Madi Canada. Canada played the ball into the box and it bounced to Wisser on the left side and she booted it into the net, tying it up at 1-1. The assist was Canada's first collegiate point.
The Gull Lake, Mich., native gave the Broncos a lead in the 31st minute when fifth-year senior
Claudia Schilling crossed the ball toward the left side of the box and Wisser headed it into the net.
The Broncos held the lead until the 76th minute, when Vanessa DiNardo got behind WMU's back line and scored to tie it up at 2-2.
Western Michigan stays at home to host Oakland on Sunday at 4 p.m. Admission is free.
