THE FIRST SERVE
After beginning MAC play with a pair of wins over the weekend, Western Michigan begins a three-match road trip on Tuesday night with a visit to DeKalb, Ill., to take on Northern Illinois.
LAST TIME OUT
The Broncos rolled to a pair of 3-0 victories over Buffalo to open Mid-American Conference play last weekend. Western Michigan has won four straight MAC openers and has started 2-0 in league play each of the last three seasons.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
Northern Illinois also began MAC play with a pair of 3-0 victories over an East Division foe, as the Huskies swept Akron. Ella Mihacevich ranks second in the league at 10.66 assists/set, while Charli Atiemo (.363, 5th) and Sammi Lockwood (.326, 7th) are among the leaders in hitting percentage.

Western Michigan holds a 36-28 lead in the all-time series against Northern Illinois. The two teams split last year's two meetings, with each team picking up a win on its home floor.
KING REPEATS AS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Maggie King was named MAC West Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after helping the Broncos to a pair of victories over Buffalo. King had double-digit kills in both wins over UB, extending her double-digit kills streak to nine straight matches. For the weekend, the Cincinnati native totaled 31 kills (5.17/set) on a .375 hitting percentage, while adding three services aces (0.50/set) and 14 digs (2.33/set).

Maggie King is all over the MAC leaderboards thus far in 2022. King enters the week leading the conference in kills (191), kills/set (3.82), total points (220.5) and points/set (4.41).The Cincinnati native also ranks third in the MAC in service aces (24) and is second in aces/set (0.48).

Logan Case continues to fuel Western Michigan's offense, as the junior sits atop the MAC and ranks second nationally with 11.60 assists/set. Going back to the end of last season, Case has had 30 or more assists in 27 consecutive matches.
