CLEVELAND – Western Michigan redshirt junior defensive lineman Braden Fiske and fifth-year senior punter Nick Mihalic both took home Mid-American Conference West Player of the Week Awards.
 
Fiske was named MAC West Defensive Player of the Week after making key tackles and forced and recovered the fumble that led to WMU's first scoring drive in the 37-30 win over Ball State. He ended up with six total tackles, 0.5 for loss, one bass breakup and one quarterback hurry. Fiske stepped up his play in the second half of the win, helping hold the Cardinals to just 187 total yards offense in the final two quarters.
 
Mihalic was named MAC West Special Teams Player of the Week after helping the Broncos win the field position battle in their victory over the Cardinals. He had five total punts and averaged 42.0 yards per punt. He had one punt over 50 yards and one that landed inside the 20. Mihalic also had six kickoffs with one touchback and an average of 63.6 yards per kickoff.

The Broncos finally return to Waldo Stadium this Saturday, hosting No. 23 Pittsburgh at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at www.wmubroncos.com/tickets.
