Danny Kolp Named to NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Danny Kolp of the Western Michigan men's basketball program has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court for the 2021-22 season.

The NABC Honors Court is for men's basketball players who are either juniors, seniors or graduate students and finished the 2021-22 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. Kolp is one of more than 2000 student-athletes across all levels of college basketball to earn this distinction.

Kolp finished up his second season with the Broncos in 2021-22, having transferred to WMU after beginning his collegiate career at Northwood University. The Petoskey, Mich., native appeared in 27 games this past season for Western Michigan, starting four.

In November against Iowa, Kolp went 3-for-3 from the field and made both of his free throw attempts to tally eight points, his highest total as a Bronco. He then grabbed a season-high five rebounds in his first start of the season, a win over Aquinas in December, and picked up six points and four rebounds in a road win at Bowling Green in late February.

An Entrepreneurship major with a 3.50 GPA, Kolp is on track to earn his degree from Western Michigan University this summer.
