Men's Soccer Announces 2022 Schedule

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's soccer program and head coach Chad Wiseman have announced the schedule for the upcoming 2022 season.
 
The schedule features seven regular season home games and seven games teams that participated in the NCAA Tournament last season. Wisconsin, St. Thomas and Chicago State will all be making their first trips to the WMU Soccer Complex. CSU is set to compete in the Mid-American Conference this season.
 
Admission to all WMU home games is free.
 
The Broncos open with the annual Brown & Gold Game on Thursday, Aug. 11 at 5 p.m. before welcoming Cleveland State on Saturday, Aug. 13 for an exhibition match at 3 p.m. WMU wraps up exhibition play with a visit to Xavier on Friday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m.
 
The regular season opens up with trips to Butler on Thursday, Aug. 25 and to Michigan State on Thursday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. The Broncos host Wisconsin for their home-opener on Monday, Sept. 5 at 3 p.m. The game against the Badgers will also be the annual Bronco Soccer Fest Game with details to be released in the future.
 
WMU continues road action at Northwestern on Friday, Sept. 9 and at Purdue Fort Wayne on Sept. 14. Western Michigan welcomes St. Thomas on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 12 p.m. before opening MAC play at home against Northern Illinois on Friday, Sept. 23 at 5 p.m. to kickoff Alumni Weekend.
 
The Broncos head on the road for the first time in conference play at Bowling Green on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. before returning home to welcome Chicago State for the first time in conference play. A quick break from MAC play, the Broncos head to Detroit Mercy on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. and then resume conference play at Northern Illinois on Oct. 9.
 
Rival Akron comes to the WMU Soccer Complex on Thursday, Oct. 13 for a 4 p.m. kickoff. After the game with the Zips the Broncos head on the road to take on state rival Oakland and then host Wright State for Senior Day on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 12 p.m.
 
WMU head to SCU on Saturday, Oct. 29 before its final home game of the regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. against the Falcons. The Broncos close out the regular season at Akron on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 12 p.m.
 
The MAC Championship game is slated for Saturday, Nov. 12 with the top two teams in the standings facing off at the MAC Regular Season Championship's stadium.
