WMU Soccer Alum Brandon Bye Named to MLS Team of the Week

BOSTON – Western Michigan men's soccer alum Brandon Bye has earned his first career Major League Soccer Team of the Week recognition after tallying three assists in the New England Revolution's 3-2 win over FC Cincinnati on Saturday.

Bye had the primary assists on all three of the Revs' goals in the victory. The Portage, Mich., native now has a career-high four assists on the season to go along with two goals.

Last season he finished second on the team in minutes played, helping leading New England to a MLS Supporter's Shield (regular season title). After the season ended he signed a new two-year contract with the Revolution through 2024.

Bye played four seasons at Western Michigan from 2014-17, helping the Broncos win the 2017 MAC Regular Season Championship. That season he finished with 12 goals and seven assists, became the program's first player in program history to be named MAC Player of the Year, named a First Team All-American and was a semifinalist for the Herman Trophy. Bye was also named the National Scholar Athlete of the Year. He went on to be drafted eighth overall by New England in the 2017 MLS Draft.
