KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team heads on the road this weekend, traveling to Ball State on Friday at 2 p.m. and to Toledo on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Broncos (11-7, 7-0 MAC) extended their Mid-American Conference winning streak to 35 matches after a pair of home wins last weekend. WMU opened the weekend with a 6-1 win over Buffalo on Friday before taking down Binghamton, 7-0, on Sunday.
ALSO PERFECT
As a team, Western Michigan is perfect in MAC play but the Broncos also have athletes who have played in at least four conference matches that are also perfect in singles play. Sophomore
Brogan Pierce and freshman
Anton Arzhankin are both 7-0 in MAC play so far. Pierce has registered a 4-0 record at No. 5 and a 3-0 record at No. 6, while Arzhankin is 3-0 at No. 1 and 4-0 at No. 2. Senior
Fynn Lohse has posted a 6-0 record in conference, with all six wins coming at No. 3. Sophomore

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
Western Michigan opened conference play by defeating Ball State, 6-1, at home. Since then, BSU has gone 3-2 in the MAC with wins over Northern Illinois, Binghamton and Buffalo. Last Saturday the Cardinals dropped a match at home against Toledo, 6-1.
Vince Orlando has a team-best nine wins in dual match play, posting a 9-5 record and a 4-2 mark in MAC play. Orlando is 5-2 at No. 6, 4-2 at No. 5 and 0-1 at No. 4. Danilo Kovacevic has played the most at No. 1 this season, going 3-8 and also posting a 4-1 record at No. 2. Thibault de Negri and Eli Herran have a team-best eight wins in doubles, posting an 8-6 record at No. 2.
SCOUTING THE ROCKETS
The Broncos also defeated Toledo (12-6, 5-1 MAC) back on March 13, 5-2, but the Rockets have not lost since, rattling off four straight wins. UT hosts Northern Illinois on Friday before welcoming WMU. The Rockets have been tough to beat a home this season, posting a 6-1 record.
Pawit Sornlaksup has a team-high 16 wins on the season, posting a 16-2 overall record, all at No. 1, and a 6-0 mark in MAC play. Marko Galic is 12-6 overall and 5-1 in conference matches with five of his wins coming at No. 5 and five at No. 6. Luka Jankovic has posted an 11-3 record with a 4-1 mark in MAC play, with the majority of his wins coming at No. 5. Sornlaksup and Galic are 11-2 at No. 1 doubles and have yet to lose a match in MAC play at 4-0.
ON THE HORIZON
Western Michigan closes out the regular season next Saturday on the road at Northern Illinois. The Broncos return to Kalamazoo to host the 2022 MAC Tournament April 23-24.
