IRVING, Texas – Eight members of the Western Michigan 2021 football team have been named to the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame 2021 NFF Hampshire Honor Society.
The honors go to those student-athletes who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers. The student-athletes are nominated by their respective schools and must have completed their final year of eligibility in Fall 2021, attained a minimum GPA of 3.2, met all NCAA mandated progress towards degree requirements, and have been starters or significant contributors throughout the 2021 season.
Brett Borske (3.35, business administration),
Mark Brooks (3.71, integrated supply management),
Mike Caliendo (3.88, biological sciences),
Therran Coleman (3.67, sport management),
Wesley French (3.68, business administration),
Jaxson Kincaide (3.63, sport management),
Bryce Nunnelly (3.75, sport management) and
Parker Sampson (3.50, sport management) all earned the honors for the Broncos. The group was a part of 1,559 players throughout the NCAA, NAIA and Sprint Football.
The eight selections fell just one shy of WMU's program record of nine, set back in 2017.
