KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's basketball team continues their stint on the road as they travel to take on Valparaiso Wednesday at 7 p.m.
OPENING TIP:
- Lauren Ross leads the scoring for the Broncos with an average of 18.3 points per game, with her highest-scoring game being against Michigan (27 points). She also leads the team in 3-pointers (14) and steals (12).
- Taylor Williams is the next highest scorer this season with an average of 11.8 points per game and leads the team in rebounds with 8.2 per game.
- Gabi Saxman leads the team in assists with 22.
- WMU hopes to bounce back after two losses away to Colorado (37-75) and Colorado State (65-85).
BRAWLING WITH THE BEACONS
The Valparaiso women's basketball team is 2-4 on the season, with their most recent result being a 92-61 loss to Bowling Green. The Beacons are led in scoring by Ali Saunders, who averages 14.3 points per game. She is followed closely by Leah Ernest, who averages 13.7 points per game and also leads the team in rebounds with 9.2 per game.
The Broncos lead the series against Valpo with a 9-4 record, with the most recent result being a 69-54 victory last season.
ON THE HORIZON
WMU returns to University Arena at the weekend with a clash against Indiana State this Saturday at noon. The Broncos then return to the road as they look to face Chicago State on Saturday, December 17
th at 2 p.m.
