WMU totaled a season-high nine steals on Sunday in Ames.
Markeese Hastings and
Owen Lobsinger led the way for the Broncos with three swipes apiece. Hastings' three steals tied a career best, while Lobsinger's three established a new career high.
IN-STATE FOES
Siena Heights is the second in-state opponent of the season for Western Michigan. The Broncos beat Concordia Ann Arbor 94-50 back on Dec. 5 in their first in-state encounter of the season. After Wednesday, WMU has four games remaining against other teams from around Michigan, with two games each against Eastern Michigan (Jan. 10 & Feb. 21) and Central Michigan (Jan. 28 & March 3). Western Michigan has won three straight against in-state foes.
SCOUTING THE SAINTS
Siena Heights is coming off of back-to-back wins to get to 4-9 on the season. Curtis Bell III leads SHU in scoring (17.0 PPG), rebounding (8.5) and assists (3.3). Wednesday's game is an exhibition contest for the Saints.
SCORIN' NORMAN
Lamar Norman Jr. bounced back from his first single-digit point output of the season (5 vs UIC on Dec. 10) with a game-high 24 points on Sunday at Iowa State. Since arriving in Kalamazoo from Duquesne prior to last season, Norman has scored in double-figures in 37 of his 40 games as a Bronco, and led Western Michigan in scoring 33 times. The senior has led WMU in scoring eight times this season, and ranks fourth in the MAC in scoring at 19.1 points per game.
LONG-RANGE LAMAR
Lamar Norman Jr. sits atop the MAC with an average of 3.5 made three's per game this season, and has made 35 total, second-most in the conference. The senior's 3.5 made three-pointers per game rank 10th in the nation, and his 35 total triples are 29th.
MAKING HIS MARK
Markeese Hastings has been a key part of Western Michigan's success on the glass, as the redshirt junior has reeled in double-digit rebounds six times thus far this season. Hastings enters Wednesday ranked third in the conference in rebounding (8.6/game), third in defensive rebounding (5.7) and fourth in offensive rebounding (2.8).

Coming into Wednesday's action, Western Michigan boasts two of the most efficient shooters in the MAC, in senior forward

Titus Wright. Simms boasts the second-highest field goal percentage in the league (.607), while Wright is right behind him in third at .596.
