Western Michigan Defeats Kalamazoo College in Exhibition, 80-39

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - In its final tune-up before the start of the 2025-26 regular season next week, the Western Michigan men's basketball team knocked off Kalamazoo College, 80-39. 

The Broncos came out hot, scoring the first 15 points of the game in the opening five minutes. Kalamazoo whittled the margin down to single-digits at 25-16 just past the halfway mark of the period. WMU countered with 11 in a row as part of a 19-5 surge to give the hosts a 44-21 advantage heading into the break. 

Western Michigan started the second half in similar fashion to the first, tallying the period's first 12 points to increase the cushion to 56-21. WMU's lead stayed above 25 for the remainder of the night, and the Brown and Gold tallied the final nine points of the contest to reach the largest margin of the evening in the waning seconds. 

The Broncos begin their 2025-26 campaign on Monday, Nov. 3, at 7 pm as they welcome Coastal Carolina to University Arena for the first game of the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge.Tickets for all WMU men's basketball home games are on-sale now at wmubroncos.com/tickets.
