Simkins posted a match-high 17 digs for the evening to become the 12th Bronco in program history to surpass 1,000 digs. The junior sits on 1,003 as a member of the Brown & Gold. Friday marked the 15th consecutive match for Simkins with double-digit digs.

Maggie King registered a match-high 14 kills for the Broncos to extend her double-digit kills' streak to nine consecutive contests. Abi Wilcoxson was also in double-figures for the fourth time in WMU's last five matches, as she tallied 11 kills.

Logan Case came one dig shy of a double-double, as she handed out 40 assists and picked up nine digs. The junior has collected 30 or more helpers in 39 consecutive contests for the Broncos.

A 6-1 run helped Western Michigan open up an 11-4 edge in the first set. At 14-10, the Broncos rattled off five consecutive points to expand the margin to 19-10, and another four-point spurt helped WMU close out the opening frame, 21-14.

Eastern Michigan got out to a 7-4 edge in the second set, but the Broncos answered with six in a row to move in front, 10-7. The Eagles drew within one on multiple occasions, including 22-21, but Western Michigan held off the visitors, and notched the final three points of the frame to take a 2-0 advantage into the intermission.

Neither team was able to gain much breathing room in the third frame until a three-point spurt helped Western Michigan build a four-point cushion, 18-14. A 4-1 run allowed EMU to pull back to within one, 21-20, but the Broncos tallied the last four points of the evening to seal the straight-set victory.
