COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Michigan hockey's Ryan McAllister and Jason Polin have swept the National Collegiate Hockey Conference monthly awards, with McAllister repeating as Rookie of the Month and Polin earning Player of the Month.
 
McAllister, the nation's leading scorer, posted 16 points from two goals and 14 assists in seven games. The London, Ontario, native also had a +10 plus/minus and fired off 26 total shots on goal. McAllister opened the month with six assists in a sweep of Miami, tallying three in each game. He also had two assists in a 4-2 win at St. Cloud State, a goal and two assists in a win over Minnesota-Duluth and then three more assists in WMU's Music City Hockey Classic victory over Northeastern. The month pushed his season total to 29 points on 22 assists, which also leads the nation, and seven goals.
 
Polin opened November recording back-to-back hat tricks in WMU's sweep of the RedHawks. In the first game of the series he tallied three goals in the 7-1 victory. On the second night he finished with a career-high five points on three goals and two assists, factoring in to every goal in the 5-2 win. The Holt, Mich,. native also had two assists in the win over the Bulldogs and finished off the month with his this third hat trick of the season in the win over the Huskies. Polin is now tied for the lead in goals scored in the nation with 13 and sits third in the nation in total points with 23.
 
The Broncos are back on the road this weekend, resuming NCHC play at Omaha on Friday and Saturday.
