Five Broncos Reach Double Figures as Broncos Blow Past Tigers

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Five different Broncos reached double-digit points as the Western Michigan downed Grace Christian University, 102-41, at University Arena on Sunday evening.
 
Taylor Williams led the way with 20 points and 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. Lauren Ross also had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Ross also had seven assists in the win. Lauren Audino had a career-high 16 points off the bench, shooting 7-for-10 from the field and grabbing seven rebounds, while Abby Voss (11) and Maggie Stutelberg (10) also hit double digits off the bench. Gabi Saxman had a game-high nine assists as the Broncos reached 100-plus points for the 19th time in program history. WMU's bench provided 53 points on the night and the team shot 46.1 percent (41-for-89), while holding the Tigers to just 29.4 percent (15-for-51).  
 
Western Michigan (2-3) opened the game with a 16-0 run and pushed ahead 25-9 into the second quarter. The Broncos then opened the second with another big run, outscoring the Tigers 20-0 before GCU managed its first basket. The second quarter was WMU's most efficient, shooting 11-for-18 from the field, including 5-for-10 from three.
 
The Broncos extended their lead further in the third quarter, with Williams and Audino combining for 12 points with the lead expanding to 77-29. Audino had another six points in the fourth quarter, with six total Broncos scoring at least three points in the final quarter to get the team over the century mark.
 
Western Michigan heads out west this week, traveling to Colorado to take on Colorado on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed live on www.pac-12.com/live/cubuffs. WMU then heads to Fort Collins to take on Colorado State on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET. Both games can also be heard live on the Bronco Media Network.
