Hockey Comes in at No. 17 in Both National Polls

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan hockey team moved up one spot to 17th in both the DCU/USCHO.com and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls after sweeping Bowling Green.

The Broncos earned a 4-1 win at home over the Falcons and then completed the sweep with an 8-2 thumping in Bowling Green. WMU extends its ranking streak to 28 consecutive polls, dating back to Oct. 11, 2021.

The new polls give the Broncos their first ranked series of the season. Western Michigan is set to take on No. 13/12 Notre Dame in a home-and-home series this weekend. WMU travels to South Bend for a 7 p.m. game on Friday night before hosting the Fighting Irish on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Tickets are limited for Saturday and can be purchased at www.wmubroncos.com/tickets. Friday's game will be streamed on Peacocktv.com, with Saturday's on NCHC.tv.
