BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The 18th-ranked Western Michigan hockey team completed the weekend sweep of Bowling Green with an emphatic 8-2 road win at Slater Family Ice Arena on Friday night.

Both Grainger and McAllister each had two assists for three-point nights. It was the first career three-point game for McAllister. Freshman forward Ethen Wolthers also had two assists on the night for a four-point weekend. Cameron Rowe made 24 saves on the night to pick up his third straight win.

Western Michigan (4-1-0) took control of the contest early with two goals in the first five minutes. Galambos netted his second of the season just 1:14 into the game, beating Christian Stoever on his glove side. Wolthers picked up his first assist of the night and Cole Gallant also tallied a helper.

Larkin scored his first of the night unassisted at 4:42 to push the lead to 2-0. The goal was his second of the season.

Sasson's first of the night gave the Broncos a 3-0 lead, scoring from the slot for his second of the weekend. The goal was set up by McAllister, his fourth assist of the season, and junior defenseman Cedric Fiedler.

Larkin netted his second of the night with 20 seconds left to play in the first period for his third goal of the season, matching his season total from last year. Dylan Wendt and Jack Perbix picked up assists on the goal as WMU pushed ahead 4-0.

McAllister netted his third goal of the season just 1:12 into the second period. Grainger won a race to a loose puck in the BGSU zone and centered it for McAllister for the tap-in.

Eric Parker scored from the right boards at 7:27 to end the shutout bid for the Broncos, cutting the lead to 5-1. WMU fired off 19 of its 41 shots on the night in the second, but Stoever made 18 saves to keep the score line in check.

Grainger got the Broncos off to a strong start in the third period, scoring just 44 seconds in. Wolthers won a battle to the puck and centered it for Grainger for his first goal of the season. The assist was Wolthers third of the season and third on the weekend, putting WMU ahead 6-1.

BGSU's Evan Dougherty added a power play goal from the left circle during a five-minute major power play to cut the lead to 6-2 but the Broncos killed off the rest.

Galambos netted his second of the game, this time on the power play at 12:12 in the third period. Aidan Fulp passed it to Galambos and he fired it from the left circle. The puck bounced off the left post and then off the right before finding the back of the net. Fulp tallied his second assist of the season and Grainger picked up his team-leading fifth.
