CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Western Michigan cross country team landed eight student-athletes on the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team for the 2021 season.
Senior Courtney Allen (3.34, biomedical sciences), junior Annalise James (3.63, exercise science), fifth-year senior Rebecca McNamee (3.64, social work), senior Kailyn Mince (3.75, secondary education: earth science), senior Charlotte Ramser (3.55, nursing), junior Ashley Shipps (3.56, elementary education), senior Paisley Sipes (3.68, art) and sophomore Brooke Soper (3.73, university curriculum) all earned the honors.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
Allen, James, McNamee, Ramser, Shipps and Sipes all earn the honors for the second straight season, while Allen, McNamee and Sipes make the team for the third time. Soper earns it for the first time of her career in her first season she was eligible.
