KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's soccer team opened Mid-American Conference play Thursday evening with a 2-0 loss to Bowling Green at the WMU Soccer Complex.
The Falcons' first score of the game came early on in the contest, when junior forward Kennedy White got an open look at goal as a result of a Bronco miscue, allowing her to capitalize in the 12th minute of play.
The game's second and final score came from redshirt senior forward Madi Wolfbauer, who freed the ball from congestion and found the back of the net just before the 42nd minute of play. The Falcons tallied a total of eight shots on the evening, six of which being on goal.
The Broncos (2-6-0, 0-1-0 MAC) totaled seven shots in the contest, but were unable to find the net. Sophomore forward Jenna Blackburn lead the way with two shots, while four other Broncos added one shot, respectively. Fifth-year goalkeeper Maggie Rogers recorded four saves Thursday night as well.
WMU looks to snap a four-game losing streak on the road against Toledo this Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN+.
