CLEVELAND – Twelve members of the Western Michigan track and field team have been named Academic All-Mid-American Conference for the 2021 outdoor season.
Courtney Allen (3.34, biomedical sciences),
Taylor Eaton (3.63, healthcare services and sciences),
Brittney Hall (4.0, occupational therapy),
Annalise James (3.63, exercise science),
Rebecca McNamee (3.64, social work),
Kailyn Mince (3.75, secondary education: earth science),
Madison Ochs (3.75, biomedical sciences), Mary Raclawsk (3.78, food/consumer package goods marketing),
Charlotte Ramser (3.76, nursing),
Ashley Shipps (3.56, elementary education),
Paisley Sipes (3.78, art) and Julianne Sormain (3.78, applied economics) all claimed the honors.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
Allen, Eaton, McNamee, and Sormain are all repeat honorees. James, Mince, Ochs, Ships and Sipes were all first-time honorees due to the merits not being handed out last season after it was canceled by COVID-19.
