CLEVELAND – The Western Michigan women's tennis team had three student-athletes earn Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors as released by the conference office.
Juniors
Kaitlyn Rogosch,
Kristina Tiraspolsky and
Femke Tjon-A-Joe all earned the honors. Rogosch boasts a 3.61 GPA in civil engineering, while Tiraspolsky has a 3.93 in finance and Tjona-A-Joe sports a 3.70 in business law.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
The honors are the first for all three, due to the cancellation of the awards last season because of COVID-19. Rogosch finished 12-9 on the season in singles play and posted a 10-4 record in doubles action. Tiraspolsky saw most of her action in doubles play, posting an 8-8 record, while Tjon-A-Joe went 10-9 in singles and 9-9 in doubles.
