KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team heads on the road on Friday to take on Toledo at 12 p.m. before returning to Kalamazoo to host Buffalo at 1 p.m.
The location of Sunday's match, outdoors at Sorensen Courts or indoors at West Hills Athletic Club, will be made later this week.
The Broncos are back in action after taking a week off. The last time out WMU won at UB, 4-3, and then hosted Northern Illinois and earned a 6-1 win. The pair of wins came a week after the team suffered its lone loss of the season to Ball State

Kaitlyn Rogosch claiming MAC Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week. It was the fifth time the Broncos have earned honors and the second time earning Doubles Team of the Week.
SECOND PLACE
Western Michigan sits alone in second place in the MAC standings at 5-1. Ball State leads the standings with a 6-0 conference record. Bowling Green and Toledo are tied for third at 4-3, while Northern Illinois sits a game behind at 3-3 so far this season. Miami, Buffalo and Eastern Michigan are all 1-5.
With no MAC Tournament on the schedule due to the restructuring from COVID-19, the winner of the regular season will claim the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
SCOUTING THE ROCKETS
This is the first meeting between Western Michigan and Toledo, with the UT scheduled to make a return trip to Kalamazoo on April 30. The Rockets are on a two-match winning streak after winning at Bowling Green last Friday and at Buffalo earlier this week on Tuesday.
Cassie Alcala has a team-high eight wins in singles play with an 8-3 record overall, 6-3 at No. 1 and 2-0 at No. 2. Laura Morera and Patricia Panta have a team high four wins in doubles play and are 4-2 overall, all at No. 2. Julia Kuszynski and Sloane Teske have played the most doubles matches together, posting 2-6 record all at No. 1.
SCOUTING THE BULLS
Buffalo is 4-5 overall this season but 1-5 in MAC play, losing its last two against Ball State and Toledo. UB hosts Miami on Friday before traveling to Kalamazoo. The Broncos defeated the Bulls in Buffalo, 4-3, back on March 26.
Junior Hsin-Yuan Shih leads the team with six singles wins and is 6-1 overall, all coming at No. 4. Gabriella Akopyan and Nikoleta Antoniou-Karademitrou have seen the most action in doubles play, teaming up for eight matches with a 2-6 record overall and a 2-3 record at No. 1.
ON THE HORIZON
WMU heads on the road next weekend, traveling to Miami on Friday before heading to Bowling Green on Sunday. Both matches start at 1 p.m.
