KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Former Western Michigan football players D'Wayne Eskridge and Jaylon Moore have been invited to the 2021 NFL Scouting Combine, which will take place virtually this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Per NFL.com, the combine will mostly rely on on-campus pro days for teams to evaluate prospects for the 2021 NFL Draft. WMU's Pro Day is set for Thursday, March 25. There will also be virtual interviews and psychological testing, with limited in-person medical evaluations.

Only one Mid-American Conference team had more invitations to the combine than WMU (Buffalo - 3).

Eskridge was the 2020 MAC Special Teams Player of the Year, FWAA Honorable Mention All-American and a finalist for the Hornung Award, given to the nation's most versatile player. A first team All-MAC selection at both receiver and kick returner, leads FBS in all-purpose yards per game (213.0) and is the only player in the country averaging above 200 all-purpose yards per game. His 130.7 receiving yards per game rank fourth in FBS entering bowl season, as well as tops in the MAC. His eight receiving TDs also lead the conference and rank 16th nationally. As a returner, Eskridge's 77.8 kickoff return yards per game stand fifth in the country and he is one of just 11 players in FBS to have at least three kick returns of 40-plus yards on the season.

Moore was a second-team All-MAC selection on the offensive line in 2020. He blocked for a Bronco offense that ranked fourth in the league in yards per game (479.7). The seven sacks allowed by the WMU offensive line were the fewest by any MAC team which played its full six-game season. He was also a second team All-MAC pick in 2019 and capped his career having played in 36 games.

Both Eskridge and Moore were invited to participate in the Reese's Senior Bowl earlier this year, with the duo participating in the week of practice in Mobile, Alabama, before Moore saw action in the game.
