Men's Soccer Hosts NIU on Sunday at 1 p.m.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan men's soccer team returns to the WMU Soccer Complex to host Northern Illinois on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The game will be streamed live for free at www.wmubroncos.com/watch. 

This is the first game for the Broncos since back on March 17 when WMU fell at NIU 3-2. Western Michigan was scheduled to play at Akron on March 22 but the game was postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Zips' program. 

SCHEDULE UPDATE
While there has yet to be a makeup date announced for the Akron game, WMU has had another Mid-American Conference road game postponed. The game at Bowling Green on March 31 has been postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Falcons' program.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
Northern Illinois is 3-4-1 on the season and 2-2 in conference play. After defeating the Broncos the Huskies fell at home to Bowling Green, 1-0. NIU is 0-3 on the road this season.
Nick Markanich leads the team in goals and points, with four tallies on the year and 10 total points. Alex Welch has a team-high three assists and five points. Adrian Alara is second on the team with three goals and is one of three players that has six points. Martin Sanchez has started all eight games in net, making 16 total saves on posting two shutouts.
 
ON THE REBOUND
Western Michigan has found the ability to bounce back following a loss in MAC play. WMU is 4-2-1 in the regular season following a conference loss under head coach Chad Wiseman.
 
ON THE HORIZON
Western Michigan's next scheduled game is at West Virginia on Sunday, April 4.
