Broncos Ride Three-Game Win Streak into Home Finale Against Toledo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Riding a three-game win streak the Western Michigan women's basketball team looks to continue its winning ways in its home finale on Wednesday, March 3 against Toledo.

Scouting the Broncos
Western Michigan enters Wednesday's contest with a three-game win streak and an overall record of 6-13 and 5-12 in Mid-American Conference play. The Broncos are coming off an impressive 86-53 home victory over Northern Illinois on Saturday.

Hitting Our Stride
The Broncos have won three straight and four of the last five contests. During the three-game winning streak the Broncos are averaging 74.3 points per game and are winning by an average of 18.6 points per game.

We Got the Three's, Three's, Three's
Against Northern Illinois the Broncos knocked down 12 three-pointers, marking the fifth game this season WMU has had double-digit three-pointers. WMU has knocked down over 10 three-pointers in two straight games, having made 11 against Eastern Michigan.

Senior Leading the Way
Redshirt senior Reilly Jacobson leads the Broncos this season at 15.2 points per game and ranks second on the team at 6.8 rebounds per contest. Shooting a stellar 48.6 percent from the field, Jacobson is ranked fourth in the MAC in field goal percentage.

Automatic From Close
Western Michigan is one of just two schools in the MAC to have two players rank in the top ten in the conference in field goal percentage. Jacobson ranks fourth in the MAC with a .486 field goal percentage while Taylor Williams ranks eighth in the MAC with a .471 field goal percentage.

Filling It Up with Watters
Over the past five games junior Maddie Watters is averaging 10.4 points per game including four straight games scoring in double figures. Since being inserted into the starting line-up back on Feb. 17 Watters is averaging 13.0 points per game.

Defensive Broncos
WMU is one of just three teams in the MAC to rank in the top six in the conference in scoring defense, opponent field goal percentage and opponent three-point field goal percentage.

What's Next?
Following Wednesday's contest the Broncos go on the road for their season finale on Saturday, March 6 against Ball State. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m. inside Worthen Arena.
