EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The Western Michigan basketball team fell at No. 24 Michigan State 98-44 on Sunday afternoon at the Breslin Center.
De'Ahna Richardson led the Broncos (1-3) in scoring with 11 points, while
Kailey Starks also reached double-digits, scoring 10 points.
Ariana Wilkes had a game-high 10 rebounds off the bench.
The Spartans jumped out to an 18-0 lead before Starks got the Broncos on the board with a triple from the left wing. WMU was held to 2-for-13 shooting in the opening quarter, while MUS went 13-for-20 from the field.
Western Michigan picked things up in the second quarter, scoring 17 points to trail 45-22 at the half. Starks had seven of her 10 points in the second.
WMU was held to seven points in the third quarter, but finished with 15 in the fourth.
The Broncos are off this week and return home to host Roosevelt University on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are on-sale at www.wmubroncos.com/tickets.
