Broncos and Cardinals Battle to 0-0 Draw

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Western Michigan women's soccer team recorded it third straight clean sheet after a 0-0 tie at Ball State on Friday afternoon.

Senior goalkeeper Maggie Rogers made nine saves as the Broncos (2-0-1) were outshot 16-3 overall and 9-1 on goal. Senior midfielder Bailey Korhorn had two of the team's three shots, with Suzuna Shibukawa getting WMU's lone chance on goal.

"Our back line did a tremendous job today against a very good Ball State team," said head coach Sammy Boateng. "We shifted well as a team and made it difficult for them to penetrate us. Emily Dahl played a fantastic game for us. I'm really proud of the team's effort today. This was a hard earned point on the road."

Rogers made two saves in the first half, four in the second, one in the first overtime and two crucial saves in the second overtime to preserve the shutout. Rogers also did a tremendous job dealing with BSU's 12 corner kicks, picking off many before they could cause danger.

Western Michigan is back in action on Thursday at Central Michigan at 3 p.m. The Broncos then return to Kalamazoo to host Toledo on Sunday at 2 p.m.
