KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan sophomore guard
B. Artis White has been selected to the Preseason All-MAC Second Team, the league office announced on Wednesday morning.
An All-MAC Honorable Mention selection following the 2020-21 campaign, White led the Broncos in scoring at 14.3 points per game, which ranked fourth in the Mid-American Conference. He scored in double-figures in 16 of the 19 games he played in for WMU, including three 20-point games.
The Canton, Mich., native was one of the top three-point shooters in the league last season, connecting on 2.9 triples per game, which was third-most in the MAC, while shooting 44.1 percent from three-point range, the fourth-highest mark in the league.
The MAC also announced the results of the preseason coaches poll on Wednesday morning. Buffalo was tabbed as the nearly unanimous preseason favorite, garnering 11 out of 12 first-place votes. Ohio was picked second in the conference, followed by Toledo, who received the final first-place vote. Western Michigan was selected to finish ninth.
In their final tune-up before regular season play, the Broncos take on Kalamazoo College in an exhibition game on Saturday, Nov. 6, at 1 pm at University Arena. Western Michigan opens the regular season at home against Hope College on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 7 pm.
