CLEVELAND – Western Michigan University sophomore setter
Logan Case has been selected as the MAC West Setter of the Week for the third consecutive week, the Mid-American Conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Case dished out a total of 128 assists (11.64/set) to help lead WMU to three MAC victories last week. The Maineville, Ohio, native began the week with her fifth straight double-double, as she compiled 46 assists and 12 digs in a four-set victory over Northern Illinois.
The sophomore followed that up with 32 assists in a sweep of Central Michigan on Friday night, then concluded the week with a 50-assist performance the next afternoon in another victory over the Chippewas. Saturday's contest marked Case's fifth match this season in which she has handed out at least 50 assists.
Case leads the MAC in both total assists (646) and assists/set (11.54), while her 11.54 assists/set average ranks fourth in the country. In conference play, the sophomore has taken her game up another notch, as she's averaging a league-best 12.22 assists/set.
Riding a six-match winning streak, Western Michigan (10-4, 5-0) begins a four-match road trip on Friday, Oct. 8, at Miami. First serve against the Redhawks is set for 7 pm, and the contest will be streamed live on
