YPSILANTI, Mich. – Fifth-year senior Rebecca McNamee paced the Western Michigan Cross Country team at the Mid-American Conference Championships hosted by Eastern Michigan on Saturday afternoon.
McNamee finished 40th overall with a 6k time of 22:26.6 while the Broncos finished in 11th place with 269 points. Toledo won the team championship, with Rocket Joy Chirchir taking the individual title. UT had four of its runners finish within the top 10.
Freshman Alayna Ostling ran a new personal-best time of 22:35.9 to finish close to McNamee in 44th. Kailyn Mince also had a personal best, finishing 54th with a time of 22:51.0 as WMU's third runner. Brooke Soper was WMU's fourth finisher with a time of 23:14.8, while Annalise James finished right behind her with a time of 23:14.8. Ashley Shipps rounded out WMU's field with a time of 23:48.5
Western Michigan is off next week before heading to the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship on Friday, Nov. 12.
