ATLANTA – The Western Michigan men's soccer team was left still searching for its first Mid-American Conference win of the season after falling at MAC newcomer Georgia State, 2-0, on Thursday night.
The Broncos were unable to find the back of the net despite seven total shots and three on goals.
GSU's Ethan Sassine scored both of the game's goals with the first coming in the 43rd minute. He added his second of the night in the 58th to push the lead to 2-0.
Western Michigan outshot the Panthers 5-4 in the second half but Gunter Rankenburg kept them out of the net to earn the shutout.
The Broncos stay in Georgia to take on Georgia Southern on Saturday at 7 p.m. The game can be watched live on ESPN+.
