YPSILANTI/ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team wrapped up the final day of the Eagles Invitational hosted by Eastern Michigan and the second day of competition at the Wolverine Invitational hosted by the University of Michigan on Saturday.
Over at EMU in doubles action the team of Maya Perkucin and Kaitlyn Rogosch picked up a 6-2 win over Yasmin Glazbrook and Nirva Patel from Oakland University. Also picking up a win was Lindsey Smith and Kristina Tiraspolsky over Ball State's Behrman and Trupp, 6-2. The duo also combined to defeat Sanvi Ahuwalia and Rafaella Platisota 6-2.
Perkucin also went to pick up a 6-2, 6-0 win in singles action over Isabelle Popma from Eastern Michigan. Also winning in singles play was Elizabeth Trupp, defeating OU's Emma Hultqvist 6-1, 6-2.
The invitational was originally scheduled to compete on Sunday but that has been canceled due to incoming bad weather.
Over at Michigan the Broncos picked up four wins in singles play. Ana Guadiana beat Michigan State's Maja Pietrowicz in a three-set thriller 5-7, 7-5, 6-0. Kiana Rizzolo picked up her first singles win as a Bronco after defeating MSU's Lauren Lemonds 6-4, 6-1. Also defeating a Spartan was Karin Hamilton. Hamilton took down Charlotte Gisclon 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. Hamilton also went on to defeat Notre Dame's Katherine Bellia 6-3, 6-2.
The Broncos return to action at the Wolverine Invitational on Sunday, indoors.
