KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's basketball team has announced the Hardwood Kickoff event to open up the team's 2021-22 season. The free event is set for Saturday, Oct. 16, at University Arena, prior to the homecoming football game that afternoon against Kent State.
 
Doors open at 12:30 pm and fans can get their first look at the 2021 Broncos as they take the court for a series of three scrimmages from 1:00-2:00 pm. Due to COVID-19 protocols, the team will not be available to sign autographs after the event.
 
Western Michigan has a busy start to its 2021-22 campaign, opening up at home against Hope College on Nov. 10 at University Arena, then heading to East Lansing two days later to take on Michigan State.
