OXFORD, Ohio – The Western Michigan hockey team snapped a six-game winless streak with a dominant 4-1 win at Miami on Friday night.
WMU (3-8-2, 3-8-2-0-0-0 NCHC) outshot MU 37-17 on the night, including 29-9 in the final 40 minutes. The Broncos picked up goals from

Josh Passolt,
Ty Glover on the night. Both Attard and Glover tallied assists for two-point games, while freshman netminder
Alex Aslanidis made 16 saves in his first career start to pick up his first career victory.
The RedHawks took an early 1-0 lead on a power play goal at 3:13 in the first period. Matt Barry found Ryan Savage open in the slot and he put it past Aslanidis for his first goal of the season. From then on, it was all Broncos.
Attard tied the game with 1.1 seconds left in the first period on his second goal of the season. After a shot by Glover there was a scramble to get to the rebound in front of the net. The puck popped out into the left circle and Attard pounced on it, back-handing it into the net. The assist was Glover's fourth of the season, while junior defenseman
Michael Joyaux also picked up a helper on the goal.
WMU took the lead at 8:19 in the second period on a power play goal by Passolt.
Aidan Fulp passed from left circle to the right circle for Passolt to one-time it into the top-left corner of the net. The goal was his fourth of the season and his 11th point. Fulp picked up his fifth assist of the season and Attard also tallied a helper, his seventh of the year.
Western Michigan took a 2-1 lead into the third period but had to kill off a five-minute major power play by the RedHawks.
Brett Van Os was ejected after a contact to the head penalty but the Broncos ended up out-chancing Miami 5-3 on the power play and killed it off. WMU had to kill off another power play before Glover tallied with the man advantage to push the lead to 3-1. The Broncos held the puck in the zone after a clearance attempt and had Miami outnumbered down below.
Ethen Frank found
Drew Worrad in the deep slot and he fed it to Glover in the left circle. Glover skated in on MU goalie Ludvig Persson and beat him with a back-hander for his first collegiate goal with 6:43 left to play. Worrad picked up his team-leading 10th on the goal and Frank tallied his third.
Polin added an empty-net goal with 1:26 left to play to push the lead to 4-1, with
Paul Washe tallying an assist.
