KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's soccer team have announced an additional captain for the 2020-21 season, with junior forward Mike Melaragni joining Caden Jackman and Brendan Skinner in the role.
Melaragni, a Rochester, Mich., native played in 11 games, starting in eight, last season with two goals and two assists and was also a part of team's leadership council. He boasts a 4.0 GPA in biomedical sciences and was an Academic All-MAC selection last season. For his career, he has played in 31 games, posting 14 points on five goals and four assists.
"Mike has the respect from all his teammates and coaches," said head coach Chad Wiseman. "He is a hard-working, driven, team first type of guy. He understands and values all phases of our program. Mike wants the responsibility that comes with being a captain for our program and I am certain he will excel in this role."
Jackman and Skinner were announced as captains back in June, before WMU's season was pushed to the spring of 2021.
