Cross Country Lands Seven on Academic All-MAC List

CLEVELAND – Six members of the Western Michigan Cross Country team have earned Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors as released by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

Senior Courtney Allen (3.42, biomedical sciences), sophomore Annalise James (3.66, exercise science), sophomore Mary Raclawski (3.81, food/consumer packaged goods marketing), senior Rebecca McNamee (3.83, social work), senior Charlotte Ramser (3.74), sophomore Ashley Shipps (3.76) and junior Paisley Sipes (3.67) all earned the honors for the Broncos.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.

Allen, McNamee, Ramser and Sipes are all repeat honors from last season. Allen earns Academic All-MAC for the third time in her career, achieving it every year she was eligible. James, Shipps and Raclawski earn it for the first time in their first year of eligibility.
